Wrote this at age 14. Influenced by listen to some of my favorite country artists Elvis Presley, Dolly Parton, Kenny Rogers, Olivia Newton John. As a kid I wanted to live in Tennessee and have my own horse to ride. This is how I pictured it.

Lyrics

Verse 1
I wake up in the morning, getting ready for my ride. Thinking about my journey from Texas to Tennessee Skies. As I start on my way seeing birds in the sky and the trickling water with the wind in my hair.

Chorus
And the sun in my eyes, with the breeze, and I sing as I ride. Thinking about Tennessee Skies.

Verse 2
Well I’ll keep on riding until my journey’s done, but time keeps on moving and the day will soon be done. But as long as I have a home the journey won’t be long because I’ll keep on thinking about my Tennessee home.

Chorus
And the sun in my eyes with the breeze, and I sing as I ride thinking about Tennessee skies.

Verse 3
Well the distance is getting shorter, but the ride still is long and the only thing that comforts me, is the country that I Rome. Well the sun is setting, but I’m still not at home and I’ll keep on going until this journey’s done.

Chorus
And the sun in my eyes with the breeze and I sing as I ride thinking about Tennessee skies.

Verse 4
Now morning has come and the sun is rising up from the mountains that I know and the place where I was born and raised. Well I’m back at home with friends by my side and it feels good to look up and see good old Tennessee skies.

Chorus
And the sun in my eyes with the breeze and I sing as I ride thinking about Tennessee skies.
